'Vampire Diaries'

The Vampire Diaries has just announced it will add three new cast members for season 7, two of which are a same-sex couple.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the CW confirmed the new additions for the upcoming season. The characters, which are described as three very nasty girls, were part of the heretics released from the prison world in the season finale.

The show's new couple, Nora and Mary Louise, will be played by Scarlett Byrne and Teressa Laine. Variety reports the character of Nora (Bryne) is tomboyish, has a sly sense of humor and possesses potent magic. Mary Louise (Liane) is described girly, fiesty and as having strong magical powers.

Elizabeth Blackmore, who plays the third heretic Valerie, is less concerned with fitting in and is apparently looking for revenge.

Aside from the character descriptions and the same-sex relationship, there has been little revealed about the upcoming season.
