US stocks opened sharply lower Tuesday as poor factory data from China sparked another round of global selloffs.

Five minutes into trade, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 1.94 percent, while the S&P 500 lost 1.92 percent and the Nasdaq Composite gave up 1.96 percent.
