US stocks extended their rally Thursday with modest opening gains after the China-driven selloff at the beginning of the week.

Five minutes into trade, the S&P 500 was up 0.51 percent, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.50 percent, and the Nasdaq Composite gained 0.28 percent.
