US economy

The US economy grew more than expected in the third quarter, according to revised data from the Commerce Department on Tuesday.

In the July to September quarter, gross domestic product -- the broad measure of the economy's output of goods and services -- rose at an annual rate of 2.1 percent, stronger than the 1.5 percent pace initially estimated. GDP growth was a bit stronger than what analysts had projected, with the consensus at a 2.0 percent rate.
