Turkey has cancelled a multi-billion-dollar deal with China to build its first anti-missile system, an official from Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu's office said on Sunday.

"The deal was cancelled," the official told AFP after Turkey's selection of a Chinese company for the contract caused concern among Ankara's fellow NATO allies. "One of the main reasons is that we will launch our own national missile project."
