Chinese shares opened higher on Friday, extending a rally after an interest rate cut earlier in the week and rises on global exchanges following days of turmoil.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index rose 1.35 percent, or 41.67 points, to 3,125.26. The Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, added 1.38 percent, or 24.23 points, to 1,776.44.
