German Chancellor Angela Merkel

German Chancellor Angela Merkel told parliament Friday that the deal for a third Greece bailout was hard for all sides but the best and last chance to resolve the crisis.

She said there "was no doubt that the agreement of Monday morning was hard" but urged MPs to back resumed negotiations, calling them "a last try" to resolve the debt drama. Not to help Greece would be "negligent, it would be irresponsible" and would risk chaos, Merkel added.
