French President Francois Hollande said Monday that new Greek reform proposals made ahead of key talks in Brussels were an "improvement" but that no debt deal was immediately possible.

"I hope that the work in the last few days between Greece and the (creditor) institutions will provide the basis for a deal which must be made as soon as possible... There have been improvements even if not everything is in order," he told reporters.
