European Central Bank president Mario Draghi said Thursday that inflation in the euro could turn negative in the coming months, even if only temporarily.
"We could see negative inflation (numbers) in the coming months," but this would be transitory and linked to falling oil prices, Draghi said after the ECB cut its inflation forecast for this year to 0.1 percent, to 1.1 percent in 2016 and 1.7 percent in 2017, all below the ECB's target of around 2.0 percent.
