China economy

China's industrial production for 2016 rose 6.0 percent, government data showed Friday, as the world's second-largest economy slowed.

Fixed-asset investment for the year rose 8.1 percent, according to the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), while retail sales were up 10.4 percent in 2016.

The figures came the same day China announced its growth slowed to 6.7 percent last year, the slowest rate in more than a quarter of a century.
