Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras

Greece and its creditors must reach a loan agreement that does not deepen austerity in the recession-hit country, the Austrian chancellor said on Wednesday as the critical talks appeared to have hit a wall.

"There is no sense in horizontal cuts ... we must find solutions that do not further expand austerity and unemployment," Werner Feymann said after a meeting with Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras.
