Alcatel-Lucent

Shares in Alcatel-Lucent plunged more than 10 percent on Paris's stock market Wednesday after the French-American group announced that its Finnish rival Nokia was buying it in a 16.5 billion euro deal.

Ten minutes after opening, the stock lost 10.51 percent to 4.01 euros, far underperforming the overall market which was trading down 0.17 percent.
