Venezuela's opposition-controlled state legislature on Wednesday swore in three anti-government lawmakers, defying President Nicolas Maduro, who had secured a court injunction to suspend them for alleged electoral fraud.

The new speaker of the National Assembly, Henry Ramos Allup, swore in the three, bringing the total number of opposition deputies in the legislature to a two-thirds "supermajority" that could empower them eventually to oust Maduro.
