The United States took aim at Daesh jihadist group Tuesday with 35 terror and sanctions designations including new IS affiliates, and three French and four British nationals.

The State and Treasury Departments said the sanctions "highlight the scope of the foreign terrorist fighter challenge facing the international community," with the Treasury's moves aiming to cut off IS sources of financing.
