Karim Wade, who is bidding to follow his father Abdoulaye Wade as Senegal's president, will appeal his prison sentence and heavy fine in a graft case at the Supreme Court, one of his lawyers said on Monday.
"We are going to apply to the Supreme Court to have the verdict cancelled," Mohamed Seydou Diagne said, hours after Karim Wade was sentenced to six years in prison and fined 210 million euros ($230 million) after being found guilty of "illicit enrichment".
