Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday met with his French counterpart Francois Hollande on the sidelines of genocide commemorations in Armenia, an AFP correspondent reported.

The two leaders were set to discuss the shelved deal for two French-built Mistral-class warships, as well as the conflict in Ukraine.
