A loud blast heard outside a gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida where a shooting left multiple injuries earlier Sunday was a "controlled explosion" by law enforcement officials, police said.

"That sound was a controlled explosion by law enforcement," the Orlando police said on its Twitter account.
