President Juan Manuel Santos

Colombia's FARC rebels said Wednesday that "peace has arrived" as their leader flew in to meet for the first time with President Juan Manuel Santos at peace talks in Cuba.

"Timoleon Jimenez has arrived in Havana," the rebels' negotiating team at the talks, which aim to end the half-century conflict, wrote on its Twitter account. It posted a picture of the FARC leader with the caption "peace has arrived."
