US President Barack Obama on Tuesday dismissed a reported plan by Republican White House hopeful Donald Trump to force Mexico to pay for a giant wall along the countries' shared border.

"This is another example of something that's not thought through and put forward for political consumption," Obama told a news conference when asked about the proposal, reported by The Washington Post.
