Voting began in South Carolina on Saturday in the US state's Democratic presidential primary between Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders.

Heading into the polls, Clinton was favored to win the southern state, where Democrats are holding their fourth nominating contest since the primary cycle kicked off on February 1.
