Abu Dhabi - Arab Today
Mohammed Khamis bin Hareb Al Muhairi, Director-General of the National Council for Tourism and Antiquities, said that the UAE has turned into a permanent summer tourist destination, thanks to the continuous flow of tourists during the summer.
This confirms that the tourist momentum of the GCC is not temporary, but it has become a continuous trend, he added.
Al Muhairi noted that the preference of many Gulf tourists to the UAE in the summer began some years ago when several UAE cities launched summer festivals, leading the GCC tourists to rediscover the UAE as a popular tourist summer destination despite the high temperatures.
He attributed this continued tourist development in summer to the intense activities of the local tourism departments, launch of various family festivals, and organising of celebrations to suit the taste of the Gulf tourists and family tourism as well.
Al Muhairi noted that hotels and resorts have also contributed to this tourist boom, as they provide special offers during the summer.
