The tourism inflow to Egypt jumped 16.4 percent in May compared to the same month a year earlier, Tourism Minister Khaled Ramy said. During a press conference on Tuesday, the minister added that rates of tourist arrivals increased in the period from January to May nine percent compared to the same period last year. Also, nights spent by tourists during the same period increased 3.7 percent compared with the same months a year earlier, he said. In the same month, hotel occupancy rates in Sharm el Sheikh, Red Sea governorate and Marsa Alam touched 62 percent, 67 percent and 54.5 percent respectively, he added. Source: MENA
