FNC Speaker Mohammed Ahmed al-Murr

Mohammed Ahmed Al Murr, Speaker of the Federal National Council, FNC, has commended the UAE wise leadership's keenness on providing all means to take care of citizens abroad through UAE embassies and diplomatic missions in various countries around the world.

Al Murr emphasised the keen interest of the Federal National Council to discuss laws and regulations and the adoption of general topics, as well as directs questions to the government, to serve the homeland and the citizens and to achieve the UAE's vision and its strategic plan, including the subject of the exemption of UAE nationals from Schengen visa requirements due to the strong friendship between the UAE and most European countries.

This came in a statement when Al Murr arrived yesterday evening in the Spanish capital, Madrid, as he led a delegation on an official four-day visit aimed at strengthening parliamentary relations of friendship with the Spanish Senate and House of Representatives.

The FNC delegation included Members of the Friendship Committee with European countries. The delegation was received by Dr. Hessa Al Otaiba, UAE Ambassador of to Spain, Salem Rashid Al Owais, Consul-General in Barcelona, members of the UAE Embassy and a number of officials from the Spanish Senate and House of Representatives.

During the visit, the FNC delegation will meet with the President of the Senate and Speaker of the Parliament of Spain, and will attend sessions of the Senate and House of Representatives, as well as signing an agreement of cooperation with the Senate.

At the meetings, the talks will focus on discussing issues and topics of mutual interest and ways to enhance cooperation relations between the FNC and the Spanish parliamentary councils, and the exchange of parliamentary expertise and coordination on various issues in the parliamentary forums, as well as activating the role of friendship committees in the parliaments of both friendly countries.
