Egyptian Foreign Ministry spokesman Badr Abdel Aati said the number of automated passports issued to Egyptians abroad during the past six months reached 40,000.

In press statements Thursday, he said Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry had issued directives on the importance of accelerating the issuance of the automated passports for Egyptians overseas.
