Beirut – Nicola Azaar
Actress Amira Nayef makes an appearance on our screens once again, this time with two very important dramas. “The back streets” and “Alrayyan,” are currently wrapping up production in anticipation of Ramadan. Nayef stars alongside the widely popular artist Laila Elwi in the drama “The back streets,” saying she learned from Elwi’s overt modesty and simplicity, admiring the way she encouraged the whole cast to treat each other equally. In “The back streets” Amira plays a character that she hasn’t done before. She plays the role of a simple, naïve Christian farmer who enjoys inciting drama through gossip, unintentionally causing problems among the other characters. For example, she causes Jamal Suliman to split up from his wife Laila Elwi a number of times without meaning to do so. In “Alrayyan”, Amira plays the role of Abu Rayyan’s wife; an evil character who sells tubes and tries to get rich quickly by marrying an old, wealthy man- even having his child simply to secure an inheritance.
