Dubai - Arab Today
Any second now, rock legends Axl Rose, Slash and Duff McKagen will be touch down in UAE together for the first time, as the blockbuster Not in This Lifetime ... reunion tour roles into town on Friday March 3.
Doors open at the Autism Rocks Arena at 4pm on Friday, before a warm-up set from UAE rockers Point of View at 8pm.
Guns n’ Roses are expected onstage at 9pm – and while Rose has a reputation for tardiness, in recent years the frontman’s time-keeping has improved considerably – as our reporter learnt in Tokyo earlier this year.
Organisers have promised ample food and beverage options, shuttle buses – and best of all – specialist merchandise stalls on site. Parking options will be "limited".
Meanwhile, on this night only rock fans can pick up half-price tickets for Bryan Adams’s concert at the same venue on March 9. Only in the summer of ‘17...
Ahead of big night, promoters 117Live have shared the following advice to fans:
• Doors open at 4pm. Arrive with plenty of time to spare, as this is a massive show, you will be one of thousands of people there to enjoy it. The earlier you are, the better your spot.
• Please use exit 22 off the Dubai-Al Ain road to allow for easy access into the venue (click on the map, above).
• Please follow the instructions of the concert organisers and security – they are there to ensure your safety, and everyone else’s.
• Do your best to share transportation with friends and family. Even better – get an RTA taxi or use Careem or Uber. We have limited parking space. There will be buses post show going to various parts of the city. These will be clearly marked.
• 117Live has ensured there are plenty of food and beverage options available onsite, make sure you stay hydrated and eat enough to keep your energy levels up.
• Please bring cash with you, whilst we have ATMs these are limited, skip the queue and buy your F&B tokens and official merchandise as soon as you arrive.
• As Rose once sang, "All we need is just a little patience". Bring your patience. We want everyone to have the best time possible, and respecting your fellow concert goers is essential.
• Dress appropriately. Remember this is an outdoor concert and you will in majority of ticket categories be standing for the entirety of the show. Closed, comfortable shoes are a must. It’s been a bit nippy the last few weeks, so bring your best rock n’ roll leather jacket.
• Before you head home you can pick up Dhs150 tickets for Bryan Adams at the same venue on March 9 th – this offer is available on show night only.
