After conducting dozens of airstrikes, Syrian regime forces made advances toward Hama northern countryside on Saturday, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) said.
Meanwhile, clashes continued between regime forces and opposition in the area as shelling was exchanged between the the two sides.
In the wee hours of Saturday, Syrian forces waged an attack to take control of areas have been captured by rebels since last August.
Up to 50 airstrikes have been carried out against the northern countryside, so far, SOHR said.
Earlier in the day, regime forces managed to recapture several sites in Hama's Tel Bzam amid advance of its troops through various axes.
