Demonstrators gathered in cities across the world to denounce the all-out Russian and Syrian bombing campaign of residential areas in the war-shattered Syrian city that has left hundreds of people dead, Euronews reported on Sunday.
They called it ‘The Global Day of Rage for Aleppo’.
That message and intense emotion were echoed on the streets of London where some 200 people took part in a march to oppose the air strikes.
Fears are growing of an even greater bloodbath with a full-on ground offensive in Aleppo looming.
As well as Russian air support, the Syrian army is being helped by hundreds of Iranian-backed militias who have arrived in Aleppo.
Addressing the international community, Abdelaziz Almashi, founder of the Syria Solidarity Campaign, said during the London march:
“When you see Bashar Assad and the Russians and the Iranians committing crimes against humanity in Syria, violating international law, and you are doing nothing to stop it, then you are part of it.”
Syria’s multi-sided civil war has killed hundreds of thousands of people, made half the population homeless and allowed much of the east of the country to fall into the hands of Daesh
