Western Union, a global payment services company, has announced its association with Amr Diab, one of the Arab world's most popular pop stars, as a Brand Ambassador.
With a strong local and international following, Diab will represent Western Union and its money transfer services, offered across 200 countries and territories.
According to Western Union's official press release, Diab will be on advertising and print campaigns throughout the region during 2015.
Born in 1961, Amr Diab is among the most prominent and regionally recognized Egyptian pop singers. He won World Music Award for Best Selling Artist four times with the last one for his 2013 album El-Leila (Tonight) which also brought him many other awards. Diab is the only Middle Eastern artist who received a World Music Award seven times.
Diab's career took off in the 1980s and remained active with a large database of followers in Egypt and regionally. He has almost 30 albums to his name with the latest one being Shoft El Ayaam (I Saw the Days, 2014), released by Rotana, Diab's producer since 2004.
Prior to his commitment with Western Union, Diab was already in the advertising campaigns of Pepsi, Hayat Water, Mobinil among others.
