Iraqi joint forces, backed by jets, stormed on Friday two regions in al Khalidiya district of Ramadi in Anbar province.
The operation was meant to expel Daesh militants out of two regions in al Khalidiya and to protect previously liberated areas against any possible attacks by the terrorist group.
The resistance of Daesh elements was weak, said head of Anbar operations command Ismail al Mahallawi.
Meanwhile, federal police commander Shaker Jawdat said that Iraqi forces killed dozens of Daesh terrorists during the military operation.
