Fifteen people were killed and some 30 others wounded ina twin bomb attack in Iraq’s eastern province of Diyala on Tuesday.The attack occurred in the morning when two roadside bombs went off at a crowdedpopular market in the city of Sadiyah, some 60 km north of the provincial capitalcity of Baquba/Diyala province, which stretches from the eastern edges of Baghdad to the border,has long been a volatile area since the U.S. -led invasion of Iraq in 2003 despiterepeated military operations against the militant groups.The attacks came one day ahead of Iraq’s parliamentary elections, the first in thecountry since the withdrawal of U.S. troops in late 2011.
