A civilian was killed and nine others injured on Thursday in two separate explosions in the Iraqi capital of Baghdad.
An explosive device, placed inside a garbage bin near a popular restaurant northeastern Iraq, went off, killing a civilian and wounding four others, a security source said.
In the meantime, five people sustained injuries after an explosive device exploded near a shop in southwestern Baghdad. The blast left damage to nearby shops.
Iraq is gripped by a sectarian conflict mostly between Shiites and Sunnis that has been exacerbated by the rise of the ultra-hardline insurgents of Daesh group.
