The security forces of Pakistan killed a key militant commander Saddam, who was a facilitator of the Peshawar school massacre, in Khyber tribal region of northern Pakistan bordering Afghanistan, said officials on Friday.
Political Agent of Khyber Agency Shahab Ali Shah, in a press conference in Peshawar city said that Saddam was killed in the Gundi area of Jamrud, adding that one of his accomplices was also arrested in an injured condition.
He further said that as a key operational commander of the banned outfit, Saddam had facilitated the Tehreek e Taliban Pakistan (TTP) gunmen who had launched the attack on Army Public School in Peshawar. Saddam was also involved in killing eight scouts' personnel along with the deaths of several tribal elders, he added.
The militants' commander was killed as security forces intensified their operations following a brutal militant attack on an army run school in Peshawar killing 149 people including 132 children.
