More than 20 people have been killed in the last three days of operation. The Grand Operation of Police in Lyari entered third day on Sunday as the Sindh government issued arrest warrants of eight people.
The ongoing operation and shortage of food have forced the residents of Nawalain, Afghani Gali, Gabol Park and Cheel Chowk to shift to other places. Police on Saturday continued operation in Lyari which was launched on Friday morning following the killing of PPP ex-naib nazim on Thursday while leading a pro-Gilani rally against the Supreme Court of Pakistan. Over 20 people, including SHO Civil Lines Fawad Khan and two women have been killed and 10 others injured in the operation which was began on Friday morning, according to media reports.
The police also claimed to have arrested over 30 people.
