At least three people were killed and hundreds of others injured in the federal capital Islamabad as clashes among police and protesters continued on Sunday, said officials.
Dr. Ayesha, spokesperson for PIMS hospital in Islamabad in a statement confirmed that three people were dead and hundreds of others injured in the ongoing clashes among the police and protesters. Hundreds of people were injured as police battled throngs of protesters led by Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Chief Dr Tahirul Qadri.
After the night of clashes, demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, protesters regrouped in morning trying to reach PM House but police held them back with tear gas, batons and rubber bullets.
