Two blasts hit separate areas of southern Pakistani city Karachi on Saturday killing at least three people and wounding nine others including a senior government official. According to police, three people lost their lives while another sustained wounds as a result of a blast in a residential apartment on the third floor of a building located in Patel Para area. The security forces have cordoned off the area and launched a probe into the incident. The wounded people were taken to a nearby hospital. The nature and intensity of the blast was still unclear and security forces were in a process of clearing the area. The blast comes just after an hour of the bomb targeting a government vehicle of KMC Metropolitan Commissioner, Matanat Ali Khan near Esa Nagri graveyard close to the busy Hasan Square area, said police. A senior police official said, "Apparently the bomb was planted in a motorcycle, eight people have been injured, condition of some of them is critical." The government official was apparently the target of the attack and security forces started investigating the incident. The wounded people were shifted to the nearby Jinnah hospital.
