Minka Kelly dismisses Sean Penn dating rumors

Minka Kelly is setting the record straight about her rumored romance with Sean Penn.

The actress took to Twitter Wednesday to address the reports that claimed the two are dating.

The I am Sam actor was on hand to celebrate Kelly at her birthday dinner, but they were also joined with three other people when they dined at The French Laundry, back in June.

"Not my nature to address gossip but hoping this last one goes away already.
Not dating a friend I had a group dinner with. #Sillymedia," the 35-year-old said.

"Sean and Minka have been friends for a long time," a source told People. "It was just a group of friends out to dinner and purely platonic."

Penn was linked to Charlize Theron since 2013 but the couple called it quits last month.
