Singer Ingrid Michaelson and her husband, musician Greg Laswell, have decided to separate.
"After careful consideration, and with mutual respect, we have decided to separate," Michaelson and Laswell told People in a statement. "We ask for privacy as we navigate this time in our lives."
Michaelson, 35, is best known for songs like "The Way I Am" and "Girls Chase Boys."
The couple, who married in August 2011, often worked together on musical projects, including the 2012 duet, "Landline."
Michaelson told CBS News last November that the April release of her sixth album, Lights Out, was followed by a string of personal tragedies, including the death of her mother.
