Gwen Stefani is surprised she and husband Gavin Rossdale are still together after 12 years of marriage.
The 45-year-old singer admitted as much in an interview with Cosmopolitan. Stefani gushed about the 49-year-old Bush frontman to the magazine, and confessed she never thought she would land a guy as "hot" as Rossdale.
"I don't know if I was a nerd in high school, but I definitely wasn't the super-cute cheerleader, so I never saw myself getting somebody like that," she related. "But I do think he's quite handsome. It's not the most important thing about him, but it's nice... and he makes really cute babies!"
"We go through so much together -- it's a miracle that we could stay together this long," she shared. "It's good to have those days when we both do our own things. I think that's what keeps relationships going, when both people can be themselves and have their own individuality."
Stefani and Rossdale met on tour in 1995, and held two marriage ceremonies in September 2002. The couple welcomed their first child, son Kingston, in May 2006, and sons Zuma and Apollo followed in August 2008 and February 2014.
Stefani released her second solo album, The Sweet Escape, in 2006, and last debuted Push and Shove with No Doubt in 2012. The singer recently served as a coach on season seven of NBC reality competition The Voice, and will perform with Adam Levine at the 2015 Grammy Awards.
