The Black Keys have scrapped a tour of Australia, New Zealand and Japan due to drummer Patrick Carney's injury, which earlier led to the cancellation of European dates.
The US garage rock duo called off 12 shows in the three countries scheduled for April, saying that Carney was working with doctors to recover from a broken and dislocated shoulder.
"The recovery process and physical therapy has taken longer than anticipated and unfortunately Patrick is still unable to perform and needs additional time to heal," the band said in a statement Sunday.
The duo said it anticipated to keep dates at summer music festivals including Primavera Sound in Barcelona, Governors Ball in New York and Rockwave in Greece.
The Black Keys have won an international audience with their raw guitar-driven rock. The band's latest album "True Blue" takes a darker lyrical turn inspired in part by frontman Dan Auerbach's divorce.
The Black Keys earlier canceled a tour of Europe that had been due to run from February 16 to March 10.
