Ariana Grande spoke out about how difficult it was to fall out of touch with her father during an interview for the September issue of Seventeen magazine.
"It's private, but it happened last year. It took me so long to be okay with it," said the 21-year-old singer.
"The thing that got me there was embracing the fact that that I am made up of half my dad, and a lot of my traits come from him. So much of me comes from my father, and for so long, I didn't like that about myself. I had to accept that it's okay not to get along with somebody and still love them."
While the "Problem" songstress wouldn't go deeper into what happened between her and her father, she did reveal that "falling out of touch" with him was the "toughest" thing she's ever dealt with.
The former Nickelodeon star also talked about selfies, her fans, her late grandfather and her no. 1 hit single "Problem" during the interview. The August issue of Seventeen hits stands August 5.
