Actor Joseph Ruskin, whose credits include "Star Trek" and "Indecent Proposal," died at a California hospital, the actors' union, SAG-AFTRA said. He was 89. SAG-AFTRA announced Ruskin, who acted in 25 films and 124 television shows, died of natural causes Saturday at a Santa Monica hospital, CNN reported Wednesday. "Joe was the epitome of the actor who takes care of all the other actors while keeping one foot firmly planted on the stage or the set," SAG-AFTRA President Ken Howard said. "He gave so much for so long it's hard to believe he's gone." Ruskin's film credits include "Indecent Proposal," "The Magnificent Seven," "Smokin' Aces" and "Prizzi's Honor." He appeared on TV shows including "Alias," "Star Trek" and "Mission Impossible." Ruskin was born Joseph Schlafman in Haverhill, Mass. He enlisted in the Navy in 1942.
