Jerusalem - AP

Israelis are marching in the country’s main cities to express anger over the high cost of living and other social issues. Protesters took to the streets Saturday in Tel Aviv, Jerusalem and in other cities. Police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said there were more than a thousand protesters in Tel Aviv but did not have nationwide figures. The turnout was much lower than last year’s rallies when hundreds of thousands marched and protest camps popped up in city centers. Those protests began with complaints about housing prices but quickly shifted to a wide range of social economic issues like high food costs, low wages and better education. The government set up a committee to provide solutions but little has changed. Protesters called for a revival of the campaign on Facebook.
