Work to construct a total of 258 new houses for Emiratis in various parts of the UAE will begin soon within the housing initiative launched by President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The committee assigned to follow-up the execution of the initiative met recently at the Presidential Palace under the chairmanship of Deputy Minister for Presidential Affairs Ahmad Juma Al Za'abi, and approved to award contracts for the construction of another 80 houses. Among them 30 houses will be built in Al Jeer area in the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah and 50 in Kalba in the emirate of Sharjah. These houses have been designed in different models to suit the number of family members and their needs. The construction works are to begin shortly and the houses will be handed over to citizens within a year.
