Minister of Economy and Trade, Mohammad Nidal al-Shaar, said the government is determined to develop the national economy and support the economists to increase job opportunities and strengthen the local product. During a meeting with General board of Aleppo Chamber of Industry on Saturday, the Minister reviewed the results of the ministerial committee's recent visit to Iraq, in terms of the marketing of goods through opening and reactivating several crossing points between Syria and Iraq. In turn, Minister of Industry, Adnan Slakho, said that the industry is the cornerstone of economic and social development process stressing the necessity for the Syrian industry to keep pace with the international and regional developments, modern techniques of production, marketing and management to reach a more active and competitive industrial sector at regional and international levels. For its part, Governor of Aleppo, Ali Ahmad Mansoura, called for upgrading the local industry to support the national economy and enable the industry to assume its role perfectly. Other speeches focused on improving the situation of industry in the city through several technical and administrative measures.
