Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry (QCCI) this evening launched a Commemorative Book on the economic achievements of Qatar during the last 40 years titled Qatar - Four Decades of Excellence and Achievements (1971 – 2011). A unique official book in design and content, it analyses and records the main economic achievements of this period highlighting the infrastructural development and the legal environment of the country. It also brings into focus eminent personalities of private sector enterprises in and out of Qatar who have made significant contributions towards the industrial development and the economic boom. The launching ceremony was attended by HE Minister of Economy and Finance Yousuf Hussein Kamal, HE Minister of Culture, Arts and Heritage Dr. Hamad bin Abdulaziz Al Kuwari, Sheikh Saleh Kamil, Chairman of the Islamic Chamber who is also chairman of the GCC Chambers of Commerce as well as a number of heads of diplomatic missions, a host of business leaders. The event is organized to honor active leaders and pioneers who founded and developed Qatar’s private sector, improved its infrastructure and helped to flourish Qatar’s economy during the last 40 years (1971 – 2011) and especially under the eminent leadership of HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, The event showcased the economic development of Qatar during the post foundation era. Qatari private sector is proud of the innumerable achievements of this period, especially those during the reign of HH Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani and HH Heir Apparent Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. Addressing the event, the QCCI Chairman HE Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al Thani, considered the Qatari experience with all of its ambitions and tools as a unique development experience worldwide, because it was the result of thoughtful planning and preparation, where the political leadership understood that man is the basis and purpose of all development and that the real development remains imperfect and incomplete unless there is a citizen enjoys the economic prosperity, quality education, health care, freedom of opinion and expression. He added that the State of Qatar had started from this point to the achievement of improving education, health, and improve the living standards of citizens in order to build a citizen able to participate in the development, with pressing ahead to building the state''s institutions and the participation of all segments of society in achieving the strategic objectives of this policy.(
