Prime Minister Marouf Bakhit received on Thursday Korean Presidential Special Envoy Kim Jang-soo. Bakhit voiced thanks and appreciation for aid provided by South Korea to the Kingdom, mainly in the field of technical training, highlighting prospects for increasing joint cooperation in the educational, investment and trade fields. He said both Jordan and South Korean see eye-to-eye on regional and international issues, mainly security and stability in the Middle East. The prime minister also reviewed a comprehensive reform program carried out by the government in implementation of the vision of His Majesty King Abdullah II. He also highlighted accomplishments that have been achieved such as political and economic dialogue, laws to enhance freedom of expression and participation in decision making, developing public administration, approving the Teachers Association Law and making constitutional amendments. The Korean official voiced appreciation of the key role played by Jordan under His Majesty’s leadership to support security and peace in the Middle East. He also valued efforts exerted by Jordan to achieve reforms and take part in peace keeping missions around the world. The Korean envoy said Korean companies were interested in carrying out projects in the Kingdom in the water and energy fields.
