U.S. automaker Chrysler Group is recalling about 50,000 vehicles for four separate problems, regulators in Washington said Monday. The automaker is recalling more than 30,000 model year 2013 Ram 1500, 2500, and 3500 trucks made between Sept. 9, 2012, through March 5, 2013, that have a premium taillamps feature. The trucks have a possible malfunctioning turn-signal signal indicator that does not warn drivers -- through a double-time flash on the dashboard -- that a turn signal is not working, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said. "Without a warning that the turn signal is malfunctioning, the driver could continue to use the vehicle, unaware that other drivers on the road are not being notified that the vehicle is turning," the NHTSA said in a statement. Chrysler is also recalling close to 13,000 model year 2013 Dodge Darts made from March 1, 2012, through Feb. 28, 2013, that have a 1.4L MultiAir turbo engine and dual dry-clutch transmission. Regulators said the vehicles could stall when the temperature is at 20 degrees Fahrenheit or colder. In a third recall, Chrysler is calling in 5,617 model year 2012 RAM 4500 and 5500 trucks made on or after Feb. 2, 2012, to fix a welding issue with the front axle carrier. "The front drive shaft may fracture and result in a loss of motive power and damage to surrounding components if the shaft continues to spin," regulators said. In the fourth recall, 1,253 model year 2013 Ram 2500 and 3500 trucks made from Jan. 7, 2013, through Feb. 28, 2013, equipped with optional premium headlamps are being called in due to malfunctioning headlamp shutters. "The headlamp shutters may function improperly when in high-beam mode," regulators said. Consumers were advised to call 800-247-9753 for information. The recall involving the Dodge Darts is scheduled to begin in June. The other three are scheduled to begin in July, the NHTSA said.
