The Abu Dhabi Health Services Company, Seha, has announced that tenders for building the new Al Ain hospital have been reviewed during a meeting held in Seha’s headquarters in Abu Dhabi. The meeting was attended by an expert committee of engineers and consultants, and included representatives from the bidding contractors. A Seha statement said that the hospital will be built on a 358,000 square metres area as part of Seha’s infrastructural development strategy. “The 688-bed hospital - of which 150 are for rehabilitation - will be built on cutting edge architectural designs and equipped with state-of-the-art medical equipment.” “The new Al Ain Hospital premises will include sections for women’s health, postnatal care, children’s health, emergency, ICU and internal medicine, as well as an underground parking facility,” the statement said. According to it, the new hospital is expected to further the provision of healthcare in Al Ain and further develop the overall healthcare infrastructure of Abu Dhabi. The Seha is an independent, public joint stock company created to develop the curative activities of the public healthcare system in Abu Dhabi. The company owns and operates the Emirate’s entire public sector health facilities including 12 hospitals with 2,644 beds, 62 ambulatory care, family care and urgent care centers and two blood banks that together make up the Seha HealthSystem. SEHA has international hospital management partnership with Johns Hopkins Medicine International, Cleveland Clinic Foundation, VAMED, Medical University of Vienna, and Fresenius Medical Care.
