Qatargas has made a financial contribution to the Qatar Red Crescent to support its institutional capabilities to help continue Qatar Red Crescent’s humanitarian and social endeavors in and outside Qatar.
The donation included funds raised at the 16th annual Qatargas Golf Open held late last year, with an additional contribution from the company. A brief ceremony was held at Qatargas’ Head office building in Doha to acknowledge Qatargas’ contribution.
During the ceremony, Saad Shaheen Al Kaabi, Fund Raising and Investment Manager at Qatar Red Crescent presented a certificate of appreciation to Qatargas Chief Operating Officer – Administration, Ghanim Al-Kuwari.
As part of its corporate social responsibility initiatives, Qatargas is keen to build enduring partnerships with organizations that strive to improve the lives of the needy and deserving people around the world. Qatargas’ support to Qatar Red Crescent is in line with the Company’s initiatives aimed at making a significant contribution towards achieving the human development goals of the Qatar National Vision 2030.
Established in Qatar in 1978, Qatar Red Crescent (QRC) is a volunteer-led humanitarian organization and one of Qatar’s leading organization in international disaster relief and humanitarian development.
It aims to assist and empower vulnerable communities without partiality or discrimination. It is globally recognized as part of the International Humanitarian Movement which consists of the International Federation for Red Cross and Red Crescent and 188 national societies as well as the International Committee for Red Cross.
Operating both locally and internationally, Qatar Red Crescent is at the forefront of the humanitarian field and has ongoing relief and sustainable health and social development projects in a number of countries throughout the Middle East, Asia and Africa, as well as Europe. Its specialized departments also address climate change, drought and famine.
